 Dylan Jones

Hometown: Durango, Colorado
Lives in: Bayfield, Colorado

Dylan is an autocross racer and demolition derby contestant. In autocross, Dylan participates in the SCCA Series and races a Datsun 240z mostly at the Sunray Event Center. In derby, Dylan drives a Ford Crown Victoria, Toyota Camry — pretty much anything with a running motor and wheels - at the Laplata County Fairgrounds. Most of Dylan’s life was spent racing mountain bikes and downhill skiing. In his teens he moved to motocross and fell for motorsports hard. His first professional race was at Portland International Raceway in the late 2000s doing slalom in a Jaguar XKS. Dylan started building autocross cars and branched into demolition to get rid of spare cars not worth racing. Dylan built his first Datsun 240z when he was 18 and got his first real taste of speed. That same car is now being rebuilt to be a autocross monster for the 2020 season.

The thing Dylan likes best about racing is the freedom to "send it" anyway he can! Speed and hanging right on the edge of traction is his favorite feeling. The biggest challenge is the cost of parts and tires, but having his own shop makes everything pretty easy. Outside of racing, Dylan likes pretty much any motorsport, to include 4x4, ATVs, motorcycles, and cars. Dylan does a lot of animal rescue, mainly pitbulls and other high risk dogs, but any animal that needs help Dylan tries to do what he can. Dylan is owner operator of Jones Custom Works and a stay-at-home dad.
